On the Line provides a range of telephone counselling services around Australia, including
MensLine Australia, SuicideLine (Vic), the national
Suicide Call Back Service.
Our telephone counsellors regularly refer callers to a wide range of community services. JIGSAW is
the primary referral source used by our counsellors. It is also provided freely to all visitors to On the Line's
websites. It is the only Australia-wide database of its kind that offers a geographical search facility with Google Maps integration.
The database specialises in the areas of mental health and well-being, family and relationships, suicide prevention, and men's issues, corresponding
to the primary focuses of our services. However it also includes major service providers in such areas as accommodation, disability, drug and alcohol, and multicultural
services.
The data in JIGSAW is audited, edited and filtered by On the Line. However we rely on service providers themselves to maintain their own details
in the database, since it is service providers who best understand their service and who are best placed to ensure that their details are kept up-to-date
and accurate in the ever-changing world of community services. On the Line sends out an email once a year reminding providers to update their details in the database.
Anyone can request that we add their service to JIGSAW. If you wish to have your service added to the database, simply add
a service here, making sure you fill in as much detail as possible. Any additional information that may help us assess whether your service is eligible
for inclusion can be included in the comments field (not publically viewable). Inclusion in the database is at On the Line's discretion; however, you can read our inclusion guidelines here.
